Akshat Patel began his career in the hotel industry in 1996, working as a weekend desk clerk, alongside two other jobs. He continued to gain experience in a variety of other hotels and various roles before becoming a partner in his first property, Comfort Inn (Reidsville, NC), in March of 1999. Within a year, he became a partner and GM at the Red Roof Inn (Burlington, NC), and managed both properties. In 2007, Akshat acquired an independent run-down property at a public auction, where Shri Hotels and Shri Hospitality Management Company were born. Throughout the years, the portfolio of hotels grew and Akshat transformed Shri Hotels into the company it is today, currently owning, developing, and managing properties throughout North Carolina across the Marriott, IHG, Hilton, Choice, and Wyndham brands. Shri Hotels seeks to continue its growth and expand its portfolio through existing asset acquisitions and pursuing select hotel development opportunities.
